Where is Today's Martin Luther King Jr.?

martin luther king jr day of service 2013
Today, we celebrate the greatness of one man and his quest to bring equality to the races in America. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man who inspired many to take peaceful action to accomplish so much.  His legacy reaches far and wide and continues today.  However, a disturbing trend has arisen which, seemingly, undermines his legacy. Few leaders seek the transformation that Martin Luther Kind Jr. sought. Instead, leaders of today, seek to keep our nation divided so that they may profit from this division.

While capitalism is the driver of our country, capitalism derived from the legacy of a great man who's leadership brought us into a better time, should not be used in this way.  People such as Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and others abuse the message of Martin Luther King Jr. to profit from his teachings.  They do not teach of love and understanding in the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.  Instead, they seemingly seek to incite hatred through race baiting and other tactics.

Is Racism Only a White Phenomenon?

martin luther king jr day of service 2013For some reason, our drive by media and "leaders" such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson cannot be honest about some of our country's problems.  God forbid, we should have an honest discussion about racial violence, especially if it is black on white.  Martin Luther King Jr. would not have stood for these activities or the lack of honest discussion. Don't get me wrong, there is racism from whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc.  Now, this may surprise some of you, but racial tensions are rising; not because the KKK is coming back into power, but because people have become ignorant.  People like our drive by media, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and other deniers want to point at one side of the equation.  And, they do nothing to work out the tension, they are fanning the flames. Racism is not a one way street.
