For some reason, our drive by media and "leaders" such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson cannot be honest about some of our country's problems. God forbid, we should have an honest discussion about racial violence, especially if it is black on white. Martin Luther King Jr. would not have stood for these activities or the lack of honest discussion. Don't get me wrong, there is racism from whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc. Now, this may surprise some of you, but racial tensions are rising; not because the KKK is coming back into power, but because people have become ignorant. People like our drive by media, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and other deniers want to point at one side of the equation. And, they do nothing to work out the tension, they are fanning the flames. Racism is not a one way street.
Fast forward in Obama's Presidency; his extreme, far left positions and legislation has the right up in arms. We are moving towards socialized medicine (which is failing miserably, as I write this), the Stimulus was a joke and only served to payoff political donors, and partisanship is at an all time high. Certainly, do not criticize the President's policies or you are sure to have the race card thrown in your face! We have heard it all; the Tea Party is a bunch of racists, you don't like Obama because he is black, and on and on... Let me get this straight; it took millions of white Americans to elect a black President, whom, if you oppose his policies, you are automatically racist, but 93% of the black population voted for him and gets a pass for being racist? Are people even serious?
Now, we are seeing the newest in deadly games "the Knockout Game" being played by young blacks around the country. The video evidence of this ongoing parade of violence is unending. Where is the media on this? They are in a state of denial; unless you watch Fox News or read online, one would not know of the brutality being imposed by these people. And, I don't expect we will see news coverage on this. Why? It puts on display the violence of young black men right now. Rather than portray them as the victims in poor neighborhoods, it suddenly shows that some of them have some loose screws.
We see sensationalized violence all the time; the Trayvon Martin murder and trial were overplayed and blown up so large you would have thought the KKK just assassinated Obama. Yet, here was a tragic story of a kid's life taken too early. But, we only see it blown up if it white on black (which is much rarer, statistically). We certainly see very little of the reverse or even black on black murders. It is sad, really, that the PC crowd just won't report on what is really going on, not some false alternative reality.
The reality is, race is an issue that should be dealt with accordingly. However, race is an issue that goes both ways, not just one. By denying that this is all occurring, we are just denying the opportunity to move past race. Instead, we have profiteers such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson continually pushing one side. Even our most powerful leaders, rather than have an open discussion to the issues, they fan the flames of one side.
I wonder, why does race still have to be an issue? I could care less what color someone is, for one. I judge people based upon their beliefs, philosophy and overall character. Yet, we have our news media sensationalizing one side of the equation and not reporting the problems for what they really are. I hate to see tensions rise to a point where we have race riots and other uncalled for actions. To the media and our leaders, get your heads out of the sand and start the discussion and raise awareness that none of this is ok.
