Why Democrats Don't Make Good Leaders

Today, recounting the recent events in our political pin ball machine, I have come to realize that Democrats don't lead.  We, the people, have become the shiny ball, bouncing off bumpers and at the command of leaders who are just trying to rack up points.  President Obama has made this abundantly clear in his lack of ability or knowledge regarding true leadership.  His Democrat allies in the Senate and, to a lesser extent, House, have repeatedly faltered in leading this country.  How bad has it gotten?  It is up to debate, as to the extent of sub par proposals and actions that are being taken by Democrats today, and in recent memory.

President Obama proposed a "fix" that really does nothing for the Affordable Care Act nor the people
Already off the rails
who are most affected by this atrocious legislation.  Is it his sheer ignorance or the lack of ability to lead? Obama's supposed fix is to allow insurers to continue offering plans that had to be cancelled under Obamacare laws.  This fix does nothing but confuse the health insurance market further.

If an insurance company offers a plan, structured like old plans, is it against the law?  Purchasers of these plans, could sue the insurance companies if they are not covered for a procedure that is required coverage under Obamacare.  So, why would insurance companies open themselves up to this liability?  There is nothing in Obama's "fix" that assures the safety of insurance companies from legal battles.  Not to mention, the prices previously offered to the customer's who have had these plans would most assuredly be higher than before.  To reinstate an insurance plan requires more than just a push of a button, it requires actuarial calculations and months of preparations.  Put all of this together, and there is not a fix whatsoever.

Obama is not stupid, but his priorities are all about government control, not what is best for the people or this country.  Party politics are the highest priority in his cabinet.  His solution simply is an attempt to shift blame from Democrats (they are the only supporters of this train wreck) to insurance companies. If insurance companies do not fix this problem of dropped plans, which he has "empowered" them through his awful press conference, it is only their fault in his eyes.

Obama is simply continuing his campaign, not leading.  If he were a leader, he would work with Congress to solve this mess.  Or, at least propose a solution that Congress could work towards.  Instead, he panders to the uninformed, claiming that he is going to "fix" the problem.  It is nothing more than lip service.  And, as the facts do and will show, he is doing absolutely nothing that benefits the citizens.

A leader will change the mind of the populace by showing them the right path for the country.  One of the greatest leaders was Ronald Reagan.  He worked to convince the people of the right track.  What happened?  He lead this country back from the brink of destruction to greatness.  Now, we are faced with the opposite, a man, whether intentionally or through pure ineptitude, who is "leading" us out of a financial nightmare into even worse times.  And why?  He simply cannot put his extreme partisanship aside to work for the people, rather than against them.  He is not leading, he is reacting to every poor report that continues to poor out of the financial markets.  He blames others and takes
no responsibility.  The buck does not stop with him, it stops with the Tea Party, "obstructionist" Republicans in the House, ATM machines, Hillary Clinton, of course George Bush, or whomever is his scapegoat of the moment.  This man demands no more respect than my 8 year old son throwing a temper tantrum in a Walmart.

2014 and 2016 are just around the corner; let us not forget who are the real leaders.  There are numerous Conservatives out there whom will need the support of the people.  Let us elect leaders, not those whose rhetoric has done nothing to get our nation on track.  Actions speak louder than words.  The actions we have seen from this administration undermine our freedom, ability to live without the microscope of the government, international relations and economic standing amongst our peers.
