Right, Left, Right, Left...it is simple as that. Yet today, political discourse in today's society has become so ideologically opposed, that walking has become difficult. Instead of a walk, it has become more of a stumble, an argument, full of vitriol towards the opposing foot. Yet, it seems no one is listening. If neither is willing to listen to the opposing foot, how are we ever going to move the country forward on this walk?
It is my opinion that we all need to show our officials that we can work together to begin walking again. Left or Right, without showing our shared values, it only sounds like hatred for one another. Today, I see so much hatred that political discourse has become lost on its walk towards improvements in our society. I am not innocent in partaking in this type of discussion, nor will I claim to be. However, I have found it enlightening to have reasoned conversations with those who oppose my ideals.
