Mirror, mirror on the wall....

I, for one, am tired of being preached to regarding inflammatory rhetoric.  The President and his allies continually preach of civil discourse.  After the tragic shooting of Gabby Giffords, the liberal political elite began preaching to Conservatives about how to engage in civil discourse.

Is this the type of civil discourse they were talking about?

Representative Alan Grayson sure thinks so!  In sending out a fundraising email with the image to the right, he was quickly bashed by the right for this inflammatory image and statements associated with it.  Do you think he apologized?  Absolutely not.  In fact, he doubled down in his description:
“Tea Party members have circulated countless altered pictures depicting President Obama and the First Lady as monkeys,” he wrote in his statement. “Tea Party members also called my fellow Member of Congress, civil rights hero John Lewis, a ‘n***ger,’ and Rep. Barney Frank a ‘faggot.’ One could go on and on, because there is overwhelming evidence that the Tea Party is the home of bigotry and discrimination in America today, just as the KKK was for an earlier generation. If the shoe fits, wear it.”
Yet, all of his claims are unfounded and way out of line.  God forbid, should Grayson actually engage in a factual argument.  Instead, he turns to demeaning his opposition by making the most horrific of claims possible and alienating a group of people which he disagrees with.

Democrat Representative Pallone, this week, continued with an outburst that left many cringing.  His claim of a "monkey court" would have most surely been fully covered had someone on the right stated such a thing.  Yet, it is apparently ok for those on the fringe left to make such statements because an excuse can always be had.

Hypocrisy cracks the Democratic party as lines appear in opposition to House and Senate Republicans

I am frequently frustrated by the hypocrisy of politics.  The most recent development comes after the Obama administration and Senate Democrats shut down the government to uphold the penalty for Americans who did not sign up for Health Insurance on the exchange.  Now, several Democratic Senators have gotten together to delay the Individual Mandate in the same way that Ted Cruz and House Republicans requested during the budget and debt ceiling argument.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi continues to hold the unrealistic expectation that the website can, in fact, somehow be repaired in time for people to enroll prior to penalties being assessed.  The company assigned to the task of building the site needs more time to make the repairs necessary.  Judging by their past performance, it is doubtful that just a "few weeks" would accomplish such a feat.
